The Anglican Way

Cookie Policy

Last updated October 6, 2026

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. anglicanway.org uses two kinds: cookies that are needed for the site to work, and, only if you accept, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is read. We use no advertising cookies.

Necessary

  • Sign-in cookies (set by our sign-in provider, Clerk, with names such as __session, __client_uat and __client). They are created only when you sign in, and they keep you signed in as you move between pages so we can show you members’ articles. If you block them you can still read free articles, but you will not be able to sign in.
  • Your cookie choice, remembered in your browser’s storage (aw-cookie-consent) so we do not ask you on every page.

Analytics (only with your consent)

  • Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID; they last up to two years). These count visits and show which pages are read, how readers arrive, and roughly where they are, so we can improve the magazine. They are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which itself sets no cookies. None of this loads until you click Accept. We do not use Google’s advertising features.

Changing your mind

Use the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of any page to accept or decline at any time. If you decline after accepting, we delete the analytics cookies. You can also delete cookies in your browser’s settings.

Payment pages

When you subscribe or donate, you complete payment on Stripe’s secure pages. Stripe uses its own cookies there to process the payment and prevent fraud. Those are governed by Stripe’s cookie policy.

Changes

If we add other kinds of cookies, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where it is needed.
